A Search for Stillness.
Shukpa began with a personal search for stillness—one shaped by time spent in the Himalayas.
A few years ago, while travelling through rugged mountain terrain, I stepped into a remote local dwelling to escape the freezing wind.
Inside, the air felt entirely different.
Crisp. Grounding. Deep with the aroma of smouldering mountain juniper—locally known as Shukpa.
For generations, mountain communities have used aromatic botanicals as part of rituals surrounding their spaces and contemplative practices.
Sitting there, the noise of the modern world seemed to disappear.
Shukpa was created to bring that feeling into contemporary spaces.
The Honesty of Raw Earth.
We consciously rejected factory-moulded, perfectly uniform forms.
We believe luxury can be found in natural imperfection.
Each Shukpa core uses raw, highly porous volcanic lava rock, selected for its texture and natural ability to absorb and gradually release botanical oil into the surrounding air.
No smoke.
No electricity.
No artificial heat.
This raw volcanic material is held within solid Indian marble, hand-finished to preserve the natural character of the stone.
Every vessel carries its own veining, texture and variation—making each piece inherently individual.
Intentional Scarcity. Eternal Ritual.
We don’t create for mass consumption.
We release one design at a time, strictly limited to 100 numbered pieces worldwide.
When an allocation window closes, that physical design enters the Shukpa archive and will never be carved again.
The artifact may be finite.
The ritual is not.
The botanical fragrance introduced with each Batch remains available to its collectors, allowing the ritual to continue long after the physical edition has entered the archive.
THE OBJECT MAY END.
THE RITUAL CONTINUES.
Welcome to Shukpa.
